When I thought I couldn’t ride another bike again, I hopped on, front and center in Sunny’s 10:45 class. I am convinced Sunny was moving my legs for me this morning. She reignited my determination.
You have to have rhythm to follow Sunny, especially with her arms series. Spazzy Chlo revealed herself again this week, and I couldn’t help but laugh. Sunny set the class up repetitive choreography to do with each set of arm movements, and everyone caught on quickly but me. I loved watching everyone else perform, they all looked fabulous.
A lot of people, who know me, know that I am a perfectionist. SoulCycle has helped me become less obsessive about getting things right, and instead, enjoying the journey to get it right. Sunny preached that it was okay to make mistakes, and yes, I know she was looking at me. She made me feel so much better.
I spent a lot of time after class speaking with Sunny. She is wonderful. Sunny drilled into my mind the importance of recovery, especially with what I’m doing. I can be very stubborn with recovery, but after this week, I have definitely learned to love my bed. Seriously, I have not stopped sleeping.
